Order of the Arrow 2020 Unit Elections

Posted on Mar 25 2020 - 3:43pm

April 14

For over 100 years, the Order of the Arrow (OA) has recognized Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives.  This recognition provides encouragement for others to live these ideals as well.  Arrowmen are known for maintaining camping traditions and spirit, promoting year-round and long-term resident camping, and providing cheerful service to others.  OA service, activities, adventures, and training for youth and adults are models of quality leadership development and programming that enrich and help to extend Scouting to America's youth.

The Order of the Arrow calling-out ceremony has been a traditional part of the Saddleback District’s annual Spring Camporee program. This is the ceremony that begins the membership induction process for newly elected youth and adult Order of the Arrow candidates. The call out is where the OA publicly acknowledges those Scouts and Scouters from your units that live the Scout Oath and Law daily as acknowledge by their fellow scouts.

Units desiring to participate in the 2020 Spring Camporee callout must conduct their unit’s election before camporee.

In order for new members to participate in the callout ceremony at Spring Camporee, the last day to hold an election is Tuesday, April 14, 2020. No elections will be conducted April 15th through 23rd, nor during camporee.

NOTE: Units may request OA elections after April 15th; however, the nominated members will not be able to participate in the Spring Camporee callout event. Unit elections held after April 16th can request a chapter representative to attend a unit meeting or event and call out the elected members.

Steps to schedule a unit election

  1. Type in to your internet browser:
  2. Select an available date and insert your unit’s contact information in columns B-G.
  3. Within three days you should receive confirmation of your unit’s selected election date, and recommendations on how to best prepare your unit for an organized and stress-free election. If you do not receive a response within three days, please email the election team with your request and details:

If your unit has not yet become involved in Order of the Arrow and would like to do so, please use this address to contact the youth leader of the Anasazi Chapter, Carter Bohn: Our chapter representatives will come to your unit and discuss Order of the Arrow, its mission, benefits to your Scouts, your unit and the overall Scouting program.

Thank you for your time,
